We’re here to help! Our office is open Monday–Friday from 7:30 a.m. to 3:30 p.m. Give us a call at 313.881.3343 to reach someone on campus, or email our team directly using the addresses below.

Matthew Swiatek

Senior Pastor

Serving faithfully since 2003, Pastor Matt has a deep passion for pointing people to Jesus and helping them make Christ the center of their lives. Day to day, he focuses on shepherding the flock and leading with a heart rooted in God’s Word.

Originally from Walled Lake, Michigan, he earned his Masters of Divinity from DBTS.  He and his wife, Jane, are proud parents of two grown sons and grandparents to three wonderful grandkids. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoys hunting and shooting in his free time. A fun fact: he’s “80% doctor” — ask him about it sometime!

His life verse, 1 Corinthians 10:31, reflects his heart for ministry: “So whether you eat or drink or whatever you do, do it all for the glory of God.”

When you walk through the doors of Crosspointe, he hopes you’ll sense the worthiness of the Savior we serve and be encouraged to put Him at the center of your life.

Jason Coplen

Associate Pastor

Jason Coplen has been part of Crosspointe for 19 years. His days are a mix of administrative work, meeting with people, and preparing to teach and preach. At the heart of his ministry is a simple passion: helping people know Jesus better and encouraging them to bring their faith into every part of life.

Jason grew up in Harper Woods. He and his wife, Becky, have four kids—Jack, Claire, Max, and Camille—and a dog named Rocky. Before ministry, Jason was a high school teacher. In his free time, he enjoys reading, running, cheering for Detroit sports, and watching his kids compete in their activities. His favorite food is pizza from Fresh Farms Market.

Jason is passionate about warning people about the perils of red-winged blackbirds—his sworn nemesis. He holds a bachelor’s degree in History from Oakland University and a Master of Divinity from The Southern Baptist Theological Seminary. His favorite verse is Galatians 2:20, and he hopes everyone who walks through our doors finds a welcoming place to ask questions and grow in their faith.

Nathaniel King

Associate Pastor &

Student Ministry Director

Nate has served at Crosspointe since 2012 as an Associate Pastor, overseeing Student Ministries and helping with various odds and ends. His heart is to partner with parents to help teens make Christ the center of their lives. Nate has felt called to ministry since high school—originally dreaming of being a missionary pilot in the Amazon—but his love for student ministry was solidified in college. He treasures seeing students grow spiritually from middle school through high school and return as young adults walking with Christ.

Born and raised in Virginia, Nate is married to Alicia and they have four sons (no, they aren’t trying for a basketball team) and a few tropical fish. He doesn’t like pickles—he’s tried them, and no, he doesn’t want to try again. In his free time, he enjoys woodworking, hiking, canoeing, biking, exploring playgrounds, and gaming with his boys.

Nate holds degrees in Theology, Intercultural Youth Ministry, and Organizational Leadership, and a Doctor of Ministry in Next Generation Ministry. He’s most encouraged by Matthew 6:25–34 and would love to say hi whether you’re visiting or have been here for years.

Renae Aldridge

Children's Ministry Director

Renae Aldridge has been part of the team since 2012. She leads programs for kids from birth through 4th grade, and no two days ever look the same—one day she’s planning an event or prepping Sunday curriculum, the next she’s decorating for VBS or organizing supplies. Every day is an adventure!

Renae has been involved in children’s ministry for as long as she can remember—first as a participant, then as a teen helping in the nursery, serving at VBS and backyard Bible clubs, on mission trips, and working at summer camps. Her lifelong passion led her to earn a degree in this area, and after years as a stay-at-home mom, God opened the perfect door for her to join Crosspointe.

She loves the enthusiasm of kids and the funny things they say. “Let’s be honest—children’s ministry is fun!” Her prayer is that kids will follow Jesus at a young age, develop a love for God’s Word, and know they are deeply loved and created for a purpose.

Originally from Michigan, Renae and her husband Tim have been married for 25 years. They have three daughters and one son-in-law—Lainey and Cole, Kinsley, and Everley—and a cat named Gus. Though she’s known for her cheerful smile, Renae admits she’s not a morning person! In her free time, she enjoys spending time with family, thrifting, and reading. She can’t sing a note but somehow knows the lyrics to countless songs.

Her favorite Bible verse is Matthew 5:16: “In the same way, let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven.”

If you’re visiting Crosspointe for the first time, Renae hopes you’ll feel welcomed, loved, and excited to see what God is doing—especially in the lives of our kids.

Ed Cantrell

Worship Director

Since May 2016, Ed has served as our Worship Director. He crafts worship services that reinforce the Sunday message and leads music that directs our devotion to the only One worthy of it.

Ed’s ministry journey began at 17 during a youth retreat, where he committed to follow God wherever He led. After graduating from Michigan Tech, Ed toured with gospel artists including Sandi Patty, Carmen, Steve Green, and The Gaithers. What began as a plan to “get music out of his system” became a calling to glorify God through it.

Following touring, Ed worked as an engineer in California while serving as a volunteer worship leader. Back in Michigan, he joined Hewlett-Packard before stepping into full-time ministry at Grace Community Church, where he served as Creative Arts/Worship Director for 26 years.

During that season, he married Tricia Wilson, and together they raised two children, Evie and Collin. Evie and her husband Drake have two daughters, Sutton and Georgia. Collin and his wife Haley have one daughter, Blaire.

After briefly stepping away to pursue a tech startup, God redirected Ed through a series of “not coincidences” to lead worship at Crosspointe.

Ed considers it a privilege to lead a team using their gifts to lift the hearts of worshippers to God“Therefore, whether you eat or drink, or whatever you do, do all to the glory of God.” 1 Corinthians 10:31

Rachel Rance

Creative & Tech Director

Rachel has been on staff since 2015. If you’ve ever admired the Sunday slides, livestream, banners, printed materials, videos, or anything creative around the church—she has probably had a hand in it. On Sundays, you can usually find her in the Tech Booth, where she serves as the producer, making sure everything looks and sounds seamless for the services.

Her journey began when she made a poster to help out in the office… and ended up falling in love with design. That spark led her back to college to earn a degree in Digital Media Design. She loves learning new things and finding creative solutions to tough problems.

Rachel has been married since 2011 and is a proud mom of three girls. She’s also a second-degree black belt, an avid reader, and will happily admit she’s a bit socially awkward. Her favorite verse is “Let the words of my mouth and the meditation of my heart be pleasing in your sight, O Lord, my Rock and my Redeemer.” Psalm 19:14

Lisa Rance

Office Manager

Lisa Rance has been part of Crosspointe since 2011. With over 30 years of office experience, she keeps everything running smoothly—from the copier to the Sunday program and everything in between. If it offices, she manages it.

Lisa has spent most of her career serving in Christian organizations because she believes every gift, even filing and bookkeeping, can be used to glorify God. Her favorite verse, Ephesians 6:7“Serve wholeheartedly, as if you were serving the Lord, not men” — reflects her heart to serve faithfully in all she does.

Born and raised in Detroit, Lisa is a proud “Motor City girl.” She married her middle school best friend, Marc, in 1990. Together they have two awesome sons, two amazing daughters-in-law, and five thriving grandkids. She’s also an award-winning baker who once had a scholarship to culinary school but chose marriage over pastry school — and now bakes with her grands, which she calls her best decision ever.

In her free time, Lisa loves being with her family and enjoying a good pizza. She’s also known for blowing outrageously big bubbles with gum. More than anything, Lisa wants every person who walks through our doors, tunes in online, or sees a post to know: we’re all messy, and God loves us anyway.

Kala Clark

Administrative Coordinator

Kala Clark first worked in the church front office in 2000–2001, then joined Grosse Pointe Nursery School (GPNS) in 2007. Over time, her role expanded to support both the Student and Children’s Ministries. Today, she handles all office-related work for GPNS and provides vital support for ministry teams—scheduling volunteers, managing events, and keeping everything organized behind the scenes.

Drawn into ministry when someone recognized her administrative gifts, Kala loves serving staff, parents, and volunteers and finds joy in everyday tasks, hoping to be the hands and feet of Jesus in every interaction.

Originally from Southern California, Kala and her husband, Robert, moved to Michigan in 1997. They have two children, Paige and Jason, plus Rex, their 15-year-old Shih Tzu–Schnauzer mix, a tank of saltwater fish, and a “grand-cat” named Fifi. A Navy veteran, Kala once flew in an A-4 Skyhawk. She enjoys traveling, reading, baking, and spending time with family and friends, and her favorite things include fall weather, Lions football, black coffee, and anything chocolate—especially mint chocolate. (Yes, she sorts her M&M’s by color before eating them in pairs.)

One of her favorite verses is Galatians 6:9: “And let us not grow weary of doing good, for in due season we will reap, if we do not give up.”

Kala wants every new face to feel what she felt when she first arrived: a warm, genuine welcome and a sense of family at Crosspointe.
